Wupatki National Monument is a protected area located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Arizona, near Flagstaff. It was established in 1924 to preserve archaeological sites and ruins left by the Sinagua people, who lived in the area from about 500 AD to 1425 AD. The monument encompasses over 35,000 acres and includes numerous pueblos and other structures, as well as a variety of other archaeological features.
